Differences Between Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home
The Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home collections have a lot in common. In fact, they are so similar that when I spoke with the Anolon specialist, they had difficulty naming many differences.
However, there are a few features that set the two collections apart.
Non-Stick Coating
Anolon Advanced Home uses proprietary Infinity Slide coating, which is sapphire-reinforced and safe for metal utensils. Anolon claims this coating lasts 16X longer than other non-stick coatings and up to 80X longer than ceramic non-stick coatings.
The Advanced collection uses a non-stick coating from Dupont called Autograph 2 Gourmet non-stick interior (fact sheet) — a more traditional PTFE triple-layer coating.
The Advanced Home collection’s coating has more of a shimmer to it, with a diamond-like speckling. It’s more distinct than the standard matte black coating used in the Advanced collection.
The Infinity Slide coating is designed to last longer than other non-stick coatings; however, the Anolon product specialist I spoke to admitted that the performance between the two coatings is virtually the same.
Design
The Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home collections feature similar designs with subtle differences.
As I’ve mentioned, the non-stick coating has a different appearance between the two collections. The Anolon Advanced has a simple black matte finish, while the Advanced Home has a shimmery speckled look.
Other than the non-stick appearance, the exterior colors vary. The Anolon Advanced collection has pieces available in bronze, graphite, indigo, umber, and onyx. However, most of the products are only available in bronze or graphite.
The Advanced Home collection has pieces available in moonstone, onyx, bronze, and indigo.
Other than those differences, the shape of the cookware’s base, handles, and lids are identical.
Lifespan
The lifespan of your cookware depends on various factors, including how often you use it, your cleaning method, and the types of utensils you use.
Stainless steel cookware can last forever, but non-stick cookware needs to be replaced when the coating wears down.
The Advanced Home collection has the more durable Infinity Slide coating, which is advertised to last up to 16 times longer than traditional non-stick.
The Advanced Home collection has a sapphire reinforced top-coat, which increases its lifespan slightly.
However, both collections’ non-stick coatings are PTFE-based, so they will likely last between 2 and 5 years.
Regardless of collection, if you want your cookware to last longer, keep temperatures under 450°F, use plastic or wooden utensils, and only wash your pans by hand.
Types of Cookware Available
The Advanced collection has been around longer than the Advanced Home collection, so more products are available. The Advanced collection includes about 30 pieces, while the Advanced Home collection includes 23.
The Advanced collection offers some products that aren’t available from the Advanced Home collection, like the 3.5-qt. Chef’s Casserole and the 4.5-qt. Tapered Stock Pot.
Check out both collection’s full product lineup on Amazon and Anolon.com.
Similarities Between Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home
As you can see, there aren’t many differences between Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home cookware.
Now, let’s look at similarities between these two collections so you understand what sets them apart from the competition.
Construction
Both collections are made of hard-anodized aluminum with non-stick coating on the interior and exterior.
Hard-anodized cookware is made from aluminum that has undergone a chemical process to make it stronger.
In this process, the aluminum is submerged in a chemical bath and charged with an electric current. This causes the metal to release oxide, which bonds to the outside of the metal. The oxide layer protects metal, making it more durable and resistant to corrosion.
Check out this article where I break down the pros and cons of hard-anodized aluminum cookware to learn more.
Cooking Performance
Since both collections have similar construction and materials, they deliver similar cooking performance.
When I spoke to the Anolon product specialist, she confirmed that Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home cookware perform the same.
I’ve been testing Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home cookware for several months and can confirm: both perform equally well. Both heat up fast, retain heat well, and release food with ease.
For a more detailed breakdown of Anolon’s performance, check out my in-depth review.
Handle Material
Both collections have stainless steel handles wrapped in silicone to keep them cool.
The silicone also helps to prevent slips and makes holding a heavy pan more comfortable.
Handle Design
Both of these collections feature handles that are attached with two steel rivets. These rivets are strong and sturdy.
However, because the rivets protrude on the inside of the pan, food can get stuck to them.
The handles feature a flat top and rounded bottom. This design gives you great control when tilting and pouring and feels comfortable to hold.
If the exposed rivets are a sticking point for you, the Anolon Accolade collection (pictured below) has what the brand calls a “Unity Surface,” meaning the rivets are flush with the non-stick surface.
Induction-Compatibility
Pot and pans in both collections are compatible with all cooktops except induction.
If you need induction-compatible cookware, check out the Anolon X or SmartStack (pictured below) collections. Both have a steel induction plate bonded to the bottom of the pans, making them compatible with all cooktops.
Oven-Safe Temperatures
Both of these collections are oven-safe up to 400°F. Be careful when using these pans in the oven, though. If they get too hot, the silicone handle coverings can get damaged.
Lids
The Anolon Advanced and Advanced home collections both have lids with tempered glass slides and stainless steel handles.
Like the handles on the pans, the lid handles are wrapped in silicone. The lids are rimmed in stainless steel for extra strength.
Keep in mind that not all of Anolon’s pans come with lids, so be sure to check before you make a purchase.
Ease of Cleaning
Both collections are easy to clean. Since they feature non-stick coating on the inside and outside, any cooked-on food should come off easily with a sponge or gentle scrubbing pad.
Neither of these collections is dishwasher-safe, so all pans will need to be washed by hand. Avoid abrasive sponges or steel wool scrubbers. Gentle dish soap and soft sponges will do the trick just fine.
Where It’s Made
Anolon is owned by the Meyer Corporation, which also owns Hestan, Farberware, Rachel Ray, and several other cookware brands.
The Meyer Corporation has factories in the United States, China, Thailand, and Italy. Where each Anolon product is manufactured varies based on demand.
Warranty
Anolon offers a limited lifetime warranty on both of these collections, which covers manufacturer defects. For example, if one of the rivets wasn’t attached properly and the handle broke off, Anolon will replace your product.
The lifetime warranty does not cover normal wear-and-tear. So, if the non-stick coating on your pan wears off, you’ll have to replace the pan yourself.
Price
The prices of Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home products are very similar. For many equivalent products, the prices are identical.
These collections are pretty affordable, especially considering the quality of their craftsmanship. For more information about the prices of specific products, see the chart below.

Bottom Line: Should You Buy Anolon Advanced or Advanced Home?
Now you know how the Anolon Advanced and Advanced Home collections compare.
The main difference between the two collections is the non-stick coating.
The Advanced collection has a standard matte-black PTFE coating, while the Advanced Home collection features the Infinity Slide coating. The Infinity Slide coating has a slight shimmer, and Anolon claims it’s more durable.
Other than that, the exterior colors vary slightly, and the Advanced collection has a few more products available.
Ultimately, both of these collections are good quality and affordable. You’re safe going with either, but I recommend the Anolon Advanced Home collection. It’s basically the updated version of the Advanced collection with more color options and a better non-stick coating.
In fact, the Anolon product specialist I spoke to hinted that Anolon will eventually discontinue the Advanced collection and replace it with Advanced Home.
You can find Advanced and Advanced Home cookware, along with Anolon’s other collections, on Amazon and Anolon.com.
