Rejuvenate: A Quick Overview

Rejuvenate floor cleaning products are manufactured by For Life Products LLC. The company was founded by entrepreneur Joseph McDonnell in the late 1990s and has since grown to be a leader in the floor care industry.

Though it started small, Rejuvenate now offers over fifty products and is available nationwide across the United States and Canada.

Its products are carried by major retailers, like Home Depot, Walmart, and Amazon, and the company is constantly expanding.

Rejuvenate’s mission is to provide its customers with a range of easily accessible choices no matter the project. That’s why it now offers cleaning products for kitchens, bathrooms, stone, glass, wood, leather, and, as you know, for floors.

Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner Review

Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner Review

Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner comes in several unique formulas for every floor in your home.

The patented formulas are designed to make your floors shine by quickly cutting through dirt and grime.

What Types of Floors Does It Work On?

Rejuvenate has floor cleaners for wood, vinyl, laminate, tile floors, and a carpet spot cleaner. They also offer an “All Floors Cleaner,” a catch-all solution for all hard floors.

Their floor cleaning products work with their Click n Clean multi-surface spray mop, making cleaning easier and faster. Rejuvenate floor cleaners are also available in bulk one-gallon jugs or 32oz spray bottles.

Here’s an overview of Rejuvenate’s floor cleaner lineup:

Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner (view on Amazon)

Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner is a residue-free cleaning product for any hard floor. It features a PH-balanced formula, so it won’t damage the finish of your floors. It’s tough enough to cut through any dirt and grime.

Because it’s a one-for-all solution, it won’t work as well as products specifically designed for specific floor types, but it’s a good solution if you want a single solution for all floor materials.

Rejuvenate Professional Hardwood Floor Cleaner (view on Amazon)

This cleaner boasts a proprietary blend of natural cleaners to clean and shine your hardwood floors at the same time. It’s a streak-free formula, so you can get rid of the dirt and give your wood floors back the shine they had when they were brand new.

Rejuvenate Bio-Enzymatic Tile and Grout Cleaner (view on Amazon)

This tile cleaner is a great option to maintain your tile floors, so they stay fresh and clean. Best of all,  the enzymes in the cleaner keep working after you are done.

Rejuvenate Grout Deep Cleaner (view on Amazon)

If you have had tile floors for a while, you know that keeping grout clean is a big challenge. It stains easily, and your floor sweeper glides right over it. Fortunately, Rejuvenate Grout Deep Cleaner makes cleaning grout simple.

This cleaner sprays on and eliminates whatever is staining your grout. Then it brushes or mops clean. Best of all, the formula is non-acidic, so you don’t need to worry about damaging your tile or your skin.

Rejuvenate Luxury Vinyl Tile Floor Cleaner (view on Amazon)

Rejuvenate Luxury Vinyl Tile Floor Cleaner is a pH-neutral cleaning option that will clean and shine your vinyl plank floor without ruining the delicate finish. Most cleaners designed for wood or tile will cause vinyl to fade quickly. That isn’t an issue with this cleaner.

Rejuvenate Luxury Vinyl Tile Floor Cleaner is a breeze to use. Spray it on, mop it up, and let it dry for 10 minutes. It doesn’t get any easier than that.

Rejuvenate Stone, Tile and, Laminate Floor Cleaner (view on Amazon)

This product is specifically designed for cleaning flooring with delicate finishes. Laminate won’t hold up to more corrosive cleaners. Rejuvenate’s natural formula means it can clean your laminate or stone flooring without stripping the manufacturer’s gloss or satin finish.

Rejuvenate Carpet Cleaner (view on Amazon)

Rejuvenate Carpet Cleaner features a proprietary bio-enzymatic formula to eliminate stains and spots on your carpet. If you have pets, this product is a must-have.

The enzymes in this cleaner will eliminate pet stains at the deepest level. It’s effective at removing all odors, too.

How to Use Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner

Rejuvenate has become so popular because it’s simple to use, and a 32-ounce bottle covers approximately 625 square feet.

For tile and grout cleaners, spray the cleaner and let it rest for at least ten minutes. That allows the enzymes to remove bacteria and grime.

For best results, let the cleaning solution dry completely on the floor. Then, use a bristle brush to scrub the grout clean. After, use a microfiber cloth with warm water to remove the excess cleaner and residue.

For wood floors, spray the cleaner on the floor and mop with the grain.

For any other hard floors, spray the cleaner on the floor and mop with a microfiber mop or cloth.

Lastly, for carpet, spray Rejuvenate Carpet Cleaner on the stain and agitate with a damp microfiber cloth or sponge. Once you’ve lifted the stain from the carpet, pat the area dry with a fresh towel.

To use the Rejuvenate Click n Clean system, attach either the brush or mop cleaning head. Then, insert your Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner bottle into the opening until you hear a click. Then, pull the trigger on the handle to spray the cleaner before mopping or scrubbing.

For grout, the Rejuvenate Click n Clean scrubbing attachment accesses the tough-to-reach crevices.

Ingredients and Safety

Rejuvenate claims its floor cleaners are safe for kids and pets when used per the product instructions.

Its products are lab tested to reduce allergens and irritants. All of the products are also water-based, so they don’t include harmful odors.

The exact ingredients vary by product, and many are proprietary. According to the safety data sheets, Rejuvenate cleaners include:

  • Water: Acts as a vehicle to carry the cleaning chemicals across your floor
  • Diethylene Glycol Ethyl Ether: A solvent that kills bacteria and polishes your floor
  • Propanediol: A plant-based solvent that is common in natural floor cleaners
  • Isopropylidene Glycol: Used in place of water in some products because it dries faster and won’t cause warping in wood or vinyl

Find the full Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner safety data sheets here.

If you’re concerned about the toxicity of Rejuvenate floor cleaners, opt for the cleaners labeled  “Green Natural,” which contain only plant-based ingredients, such as Green Natural Stone, Tile, and Laminate Floor Cleaner.

If you compare the safety data sheet for the regular All Floors Cleaner to the Green Nature All Floors Cleaner, you’ll notice that the latter does not contain diethylene glycol ethyl ether or propanediol.

Key Benefits

ph-Balance Formula: Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner uses a pH-balanced formula, which allows these products to clean your floors effectively without damaging the finish.

Easy to Use: The floor cleaning products are already formulated with the correct amount of water, so you don’t need a water bucket or a mop. You can use all of these products with a microfiber towel or the Click n Clean spray system.

Low VOCs: Rejuvenate floor cleaners feature low VOCs and don’t emit strong odors. If you have kids or pets around, these products shouldn’t cause them any irritation. Regardless, always ensure the room is well-ventilated when using Rejuvenate (or any other cleaning product).

Variety of Size and Applicators: Rejuvenate floor cleaners are available in various sizes and disbursement options, so you can choose how you want to clean your floors. You can spray it on, apply with a mop, or use the Click n Clean spray mop system. You can also buy their products in bulk and refill as you go.

Made in the United States: Lastly, Rejuvenate products are made in the US., which helps the company maintain impeccable quality control. Though many American-made products are more expensive, Rejuvenate cleaners are relatively inexpensive.

Common Complaints

The most common complaint about Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner is that it doesn’t deliver the shine customers expect.

Rejuvenate talks a big game, claiming its products will “make floors shine.” In fact, the brand’s slogan is “Make it NEW again!”

Those are bold claims, and while Rejuvenate certainly cleans well, it’s nearly impossible for a simple cleaning solution to make floors look brand new. I think most of these complaints are the result of Rejuvenate overpromising, leading to unrealistic customer expectations.

Some customers have reported streaking after the floor dries. People have also said that they need to use more of the product than other cleaners, so it’s not as economical as it seems.

Lastly, some people have noticed that floors can have a tacky feeling after cleaning. If this happens, give the floor a rinse with warm water and a damp rag.

To get the whole picture, you can read hundreds of reviews (both good and bad) on Amazon.

Rejuvenate Floor Restorer Review

Rejuvenate Floor Restorer Review

Rejuvenate floor restorers are designed to revive your floors back to their former glory. Let’s see if they work.

What Types of Floors Does It Work On?

Rejuvenate offers an All Floors Restorer designed for wood, vinyl, tile, and laminate floors. It fills in minor scratches, reseals your floor, and offers UV protection for months. Additionally, Rejuvenate All Floor Restorer is low-VOC and safe for kids and pets once dry.

Rejuvenate also offers restorers specifically for wood floors, which are available in satin or gloss finishes. These restorers use a water-based polyurethane, which bonds to your existing wood floor finish. The result is the ultimate protection from scuffs and scratches without waxy buildup.

How to Use Rejuvenate Restorer

Like Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner, applying the restorer is simple and easy.

Rejuvenate Hardwood Floor Restorer Directions
Rejuvenate Hardwood Floor Restorer Directions

Before applying the restorer, clean your floor thoroughly. Sweep or vacuum loose dirt and debris, then mop with Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner.

Once the floor is clean and dry, pour Rejuvenate Floor Restorer on the floor and mop with a microfiber towel, microfiber mop head, or Rejuvenate applicator bonnet. Don’t use string, cotton, or sponge mops, as those won’t spread the product evenly.

Allow the restorer to dry for at least one hour, preferably 24 hours, before walking on the floor or putting your furniture back in place.

If you are using Rejuvenate All Floors Restorer on wood floors, be sure to mop with the grain to create a seamless seal.

If your floor is sealed with an acrylic finish, you need to strip it before using Rejuvenate Wood Floors Restorer. Then, use the same pour and mop process as the All Floor Restorer. After two hours, if needed, apply a second coat of Wood Floors Restorer.

Both products will cover up to 650 square feet of flooring per 32oz bottle. Be sure to get extra in case you need two coats.

Ingredients and Safety

Like the floor cleaners, Rejuvenate Floor Restorers are low-VOC and safe when dry. The formulas are free of dyes and perfumes, and, as far as floor restoration products are concerned, these are as safe as they come.

Below are the ingredients listed in Rejuvenate’s safety data sheets:

Water is used as a vehicle to carry the floor restorer across the surface. Both ethers are natural solvents, which help the restorers penetrate your floor surface to provide a complete seal. Triethylamine is an alkalytic alcohol, which helps to keep the pH of the product balanced.

You can find Rejuvenate’s full safety data sheets here.

Key Benefits

Low Odor and VOCs: Rejuvenate floor restorers are low-VOC and free of pungent odors typical with this type of product.

Simple to Use: You don’t need to be a pro to use Rejuvenate floor restorers. With the pour-and-mop application process, it’s foolproof. But if you are worried about messing up the application, you can find step-by-step videos for each product on Rejuvenate.com and the brand’s YouTube channel.

Made in the United States: Rejuvenate floor restorers are made in the US, just like its floor cleaners for superb quality control and simple shipping nationwide.

Effective: Finally, these products work. Rejuvenate All Floors Restorer and Wood Floors Restorer hold their finish for months and will protect your floors to keep them looking like new. If you need proof, check out the hundreds of positive reviews on Amazon.

Common Complaints

A common complaint about Rejuvenate floor restorers is that they can leave a white film that is difficult to remove. If that happens, don’t panic.

Smudges on floor due to Rejuvenate
Smudges on floor due to Rejuvenate

You can remove the film with hot soapy water or vinegar. Worst case scenario, you’ll need a strong chemical, such as Zep floor stripper.

While this is an irritating problem, Rejuvenate will not ruin your floors. It’s a fixable problem, and I put together this guide to help.

The common reasons Rejuvenate floor restorers leave behind a film include:

  • The product used is not compatible with the floor material
  • Too much product was used
  • The floors weren’t cleaned thoroughly before applying it
  • The product didn’t dry completely before the floor was walked on

The best way to avoid any problems with Rejuvenate floor restorers is to test a small, inconspicuous area first. Follow all the instructions and let it dry completely before walking on it.

Besides streaks and film, another common theme among dissatisfied customers is that the shine didn’t last as long as it should have. Others stated that it was okay but not as good as other products, like Bona.

What Others Are Saying About Rejuvenate

Rejuvenate has an excellent reputation, often receiving praise for its floor care products’ performance and reliability. Here’s an overview of what others have to say about the brand.

Best Reviews called Rejuvenate the “best of the best” in its hardwood floor restorer roundup. The reviewers liked the amount of coverage and protection you get from one bottle, even if it doesn’t cover scratches as well as they would like.

In its list of the best floor cleaners, The Spruce picked Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner as its top pick. The reviewers praised the versatility of the cleaner and the streak-free finish.

Bob Vila also picked Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner as its favorite floor cleaner. In addition to working on all surfaces, the reviewers liked that it comes unconcentrated. The pH-balanced gentle finish was another positive call-out.

Business Insider called Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner the best floor cleaner for vinyl. The reviewers appreciated the rinse-free application.

Rejuvenate Green Natural Cabinet and Furniture Cleaner won best wood cleaner in Better Homes & Gardens’ Clean House Awards. The reviewers praised how easily it removes grease and its pleasant smell.

Price

One of the major benefits of Rejuvenate floor cleaners and restorers is that they’re relatively affordable. A 32-ounce bottle costs less than $10 and covers between 625 and 650 square feet.

One of Rejuvenate’s biggest competitors, Bona, offers similar floor care products, but, in many cases, it costs a few dollars more per bottle.

When comparing to other brands, you should look at the price per ounce rather than per bottle. Also, be sure to check whether the other products are concentrated.

FAQs About Rejuvenate

If you still have questions about Rejuvenate floor cleaners or restorers, the answer below should clear things up.

How can I remove the film left behind by Rejuvenate Floor Restorer?

If Rejuvenate Floor Restorer leaves a film or haze behind on your floor, you can try to buff it out with soapy water or vinegar and a microfiber towel. If that doesn’t work, you can strip Rejuvenate off your floor with Zep. Learn more in my in-depth guide to removing the film left behind by Rejuvenate.

Do Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner and Floor Restorer buildup on your floors after multiple uses?

Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner won’t build up on your floor because of the alcohol content. However, Rejuvenate Floor Restorer creates a sealed protective layer, and multiple applications can result in an unwanted hazy film. Follow the usage instructions carefully.

Will Rejuvenate make my floors slippery?

Rejuvenate is slippery when wet but not after it dries. Allow the product to dry completely before you walk on the floor.

How long does it take for Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner and Floor Restorer to dry?

Drying time depends on the product. Floor cleaners dry within 30 minutes, and floor restorers should dry between 45-60 minutes.

What types of flooring do Rejuvenate products NOT work on?

Rejuvenate floor cleaning products don’t work on porous surfaces, like unfinished concrete. Rejuvenate floor restorer won’t work on wood floors that have an existing acrylic finish. If your floor has an acrylic protective finish, you’ll need to strip it completely before using Rejuvenate floor restorer. Additionally, the floor restorer won’t stick to wood floors with an aluminum oxide finish.

Where can I buy Rejuvenate products?

You can buy Rejuvenate products from The Home Depot and Walmart. You can also get Rejuvenate products from their website or on Amazon.

Bottom Line: Are Rejuvenate Floor Cleaners and Restorers Worth Trying?

Overall, Rejuvenate floor cleaners and restorers have an excellent reputation in the industry.

But are they worth trying? Or should you opt for another floor care brand?

Before I give you my recommendation, let’s recap:

  • Rejuvenate offers a wide range of floor care products for every floor type, including cleaners, restorers, spray mops, mops kits, and microfiber applicators.
  • The floor cleaners and restorers are ready to use straight out of the bottle; no need to mix with water.
  • The formulas are low-VOC and contain mostly plant-based ingredients. The floor cleaners labeled “Green Natural” are 100% plant-based.
  • The brand regularly receives awards for its performance and is often featured in “best floor cleaners/restorers” lists.
  • The floor cleaners and restorers are affordable, and in many cases, cheaper than the competition.
  • Most customers praise Rejuvenate’s performance, but others complain that it leaves film (especially the floor restorers).

Rejuvenate floor cleaners are highly rated and, based on my testing, they live up to the hype. They’re cheap, simple to use, and do the job well.

I’ve tested Rejuvenate floor cleaner head-to-head against Bona, a well-established leader in residential and commercial floor care, and the results were similar.

I recommend starting with a 32-ounce bottle and testing it out on an inconspicuous area of our floor to see how it reacts. If you like the results, apply the rest of the room.

Rejuvenate floor restorers have more mixed reviews, mostly due to the risk of leaving behind a hazy film.

While the restorers can work exceptionally well if you use them correctly, spending hours removing undoing your work a day later is not something most people want to risk.

If you only need a restorer, I recommend trying Bona first. Bona has an excellent reputation and far fewer complaints about streaky films.

If you decide to try Rejuvenate floor restorer, follow the instructions to a tee and test it on a small area before applying it to your entire floor.
